The company's founder, Ed Evans, is a native of Northeast Philadelphia.
He grew up eating cheese steaks and hoagies from many of the best
steak and hoagie shops throughout Philadelphia.
He worked his way all through high school
and college cooking them as well.
After relocating to Northern California, Ed quickly recognized
that  west coast residents had been missing out
on the east coast culinary treat.
It was then he decided to open sandwich shops
dedicated to the Philadelphia culinary delicacies.

Established in July 2000, Philly Cheese Steak Shoppe
quickly became the leading sandwich destination.

Unlike other so called "Philly" sandwich shops,
Ed insisted on only using the finest ingredients
imported direct from Philly
to create authentic, great tasting Philly foods.

The company mission statement sums it up:

"Philly Cheese Steak Shoppe will serve
authentic Philadelphia style foods
in a fun "Philly" atmosphere.

In so doing, Philly Cheese Steak Shoppe
shall achieve these objectives:

  • Introduce a new and delicious style of sandwich
  to our friends & neighbors of the
western United States.

  • Provide a true taste of Philadelphia to
those originally from the East Coast and
those who have traveled to the East Coast.

Our mission will lead our daily decisions
and build Philly Cheese Steak Shoppes'
strong reputation of quality food, excellent service
and ownership integrity.



Shoppe Stats
The company currently operates two shoppe locations.
The first shoppe was established in Arcata, CA and
the second is located in Eureka, CA.

Two new locations are planned to serve the needs of Mckinleyville and Fortuna.
We'll keep you posted to the exact opening dates.
